External Wall Insulation (EWI) is supported by grants from the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland.

The grant is designed to help homeowners improve energy efficiency, reduce heat loss and support better overall home performance. The amount available depends on your house type and whether the upgrade is completed as a single measure or as part of a wider One Stop Shop upgrade plan.

Grants are not automatic. Eligibility and suitability must be confirmed first.

Step 1: Confirming If Your Home Qualifies

• Meet SEAI eligibility criteria

• Be assessed by a registered professional

If you are upgrading through Churchfield Home Services as a registered One Stop Shop, this begins with a Home Energy Assessment.

The assessment checks:

• Wall construction type
  
• Existing insulation levels
  
• Heat loss patterns
  
• Overall energy performance
  

This ensures External Wall Insulation is technically appropriate for your property.

Step 2: Choosing the Right Upgrade Pathway

There are two main ways External Wall Insulation grants can apply:

1. One Stop Shop (Full Upgrade Pathway)

This is where you complete multiple upgrades under a structured plan:

• A Home Energy Assessment is required
  
• A Retrofit Advisor oversees your project
  
• Higher overall grant support may apply
  
• Works are coordinated under one contract
  

This pathway supports a more comprehensive energy upgrade.

2. Individual Measure (Single Upgrade)

If you are only installing External Wall Insulation and not completing a wider upgrade, it may be processed as an individual measure.

In this case:

• The process is more limited in scope
  
• A full upgrade plan is not required
  
• Grant amounts may differ
